The European Commission has published updates of eight CE Marking Directives. The Directives will come into force on April 20, 2016.
The plan of the Commission for the new legislative framework (NFL) announced is to:

Provide better understanding to a range of directives.

Provide better compliance rules and increased protection for European consumers from unsafe goods.

Provide better assessment procedures and conformity for assessment bodies.

Develop improved understanding of the CE Mark and improve its importance within the EU.

Develop better understanding for importers and distributors where a CE Mark is applied outside Europe.
Among the Directives affected by the updates are:

The Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/EU
-
Simple Pressure Vessels Directive 2014/29/EU
-
The Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU
All these Directives become effective on April 20, 2016, with no lead-in from previous Directives covering the same subjects.
